Matsunoi Shuzojo, one of the smallest breweries, has won more gold medals than any other breweries in Niigata at Japan National Sake Competition in the last decade including 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, & 2007. As their production is so limited, most of the sake is shipped to customers in their hometown, Tokamachi in Niigata. This tokubetsu junmai sake, being loved by local sake connoisseurs, is Tokamachifs hidden gem.
